Captain's Log
Spent part of today chasing down a size mismatch on the Colossus model. The builder's report said one thing, the saved file said another, and both looked plausible enough that I almost trusted the wrong one. It only resolved when I went and actually measured the file directly — old-fashioned, manual, annoying.
This kind of thing is what slows a solo build down more than any big dramatic crisis. Not a crash, not a corrupted asset. Just two numbers that should agree and don't, sitting quietly until you notice the geometry is subtly wrong in context.
The fix itself took minutes once I knew where to look. The finding took longer. I'm keeping a note to myself: when metadata and file disagree, always go to the file. The report is a summary. The file is the truth.
