Captain's Log
The first version of the Grindwalker with landing pads, covered bridges between the hulls and a cooling tower came back today. The bridges look great. You can walk through them with plenty of headroom and they finally make the gap between the two hulls feel like part of one city.
The tower did not land. It came out small and clean and light grey, and from a distance it reads like a grain silo on a farm, not a working tower on an industrial ship. That one is on us, not the builder. Our brief squeezed a 48 metre base into a 51 metre corridor, so of course it came out timid.
So it goes around again, bigger and dirtier. None of this has been inside Unreal yet. It is all still in Blender, and I keep reminding myself that a good render is not the same as a ship you can walk on.
